The primary purpose of this dataset is to provide a whole-stream route system ideal for storing, organizing, and displaying stream related fisheries and habitat data across the Pacific Northwest at the best practically available source scale. This published dataset represents a subset (Limited to the PNW and Columbia River Basin) of StreamNet's regionally standard linear referencing system, StreamNet's Mixed Scale Hydrography v4.1 (MSHv4.1). While the linear referencing system is no longer in use as a part of the Partnership's data exchange process, it remains useful and can support many different types of GIS analysis and georeferencing features based on a unique whole-stream identifier (LocationID). StreamNet and PTAGIS still leverage this framework for purposes of managing stream names and identifiers within the region. |
